Seventy-First High School serves the zone just south of Fort Bragg and adjacent to the Hoke County line. Highway 401, or Raeford Road, passes directly through this area and most of the traffic is concentrated on that strip. Primarily residential, the residents here do have access to a few small stores, restaurants, and a couple of Wal-Marts. Most people typically travel to other parts of the city for work and play. There’s still a good bit of undeveloped land with lakes and ponds scattered throughout, so we’ll be keeping an eye on future developments.
Neighbors
This area is made up of a mix of military and civilian, but the poorly-rated schools prompt most military families to look elsewhere. Single servicemen and geographic bachelors might consider this area if they are looking to pocket BAH and are not as concerned with school selection or safety ratings.
Neighborhood Feel
Affordable homes can be found here, but take care to research crime statistics. It’s not recommended to rent or buy sight unseen in this area. For the most part, it’s a fairly quiet locale, with most of the activity and traffic focused around Raeford Road and Cliffdale Road. The residential scene is comprised largely of apartment complexes and small, older homes.
